A huge welcome to Know Your Area Limited! My name is Lars Erlandsen and I am the creator of this company. I hope that whether you are buying a new home, or setting up or relocating your business in a new area, you will find our organisation an integral part in making the right choice for your next move.

Buying a home or purchasing an office are likely to be the most expensive purchases you will ever make. It is essential that you make the right choice. But how do you know if your new home has the best schools for your growing family, or the right age demographic? Will your new business be in an area with sufficient population density that fits your requirements? Up until now, finding the right place has been very time consuming, requiring hours of searching the internet, speaking with agencies, visiting potential locations and even then it is really difficult to be sure you’ve made the right choice.

I started Know Your Area Limited because I realised how hard it was to find all the essential, basic information that can help families make the right choice. My three children had all grown up and were looking for their first homes. They wanted to find properties at the right price, in a location where the age demographic was similar to their own, where there were good healthcare facilities, and where properties would not stagnate in value, but would appreciate over time. Purchasing at the lower end of the market risked living in deprived areas where there could be higher crime levels than elsewhere. There could also be a risk of flooding if the area was in a coastal region or had rivers or picturesque lakes nearby. High levels of radon could also be detrimental to health. I wanted my children to find a home that was suitable and as safe as possible. The information was out there, but was scattered over many sites, difficult to find and often hard to decipher.

Trying to gather as much information as possible was very frustrating and extremely time consuming. We were all working full time and had few spare hours to spend researching areas properly. Finally I decided to use my software engineering skills to bring all the reliable, accurate data into one easy to use website and so Know Your Area Limited was born! Having built this company with my own children in mind, I now want this to be available nationwide and to be the tool that puts power in the hands of all our customers. We all have the right to have access to this information BEFORE, and not after, making one of the biggest investments of our lives. Our simple to use maps enables customers to pull together this data in a quick and easy visually attractive way.
