Why I Built Know Your Area

Buying a property is likely the most expensive purchase you will ever make. You shouldn’t have to rely on guesswork to know if it’s the right choice.

The Problem When my own children started looking for their first homes, I saw firsthand how difficult the process was. We wanted to answer simple questions:

• Is this street safe at night?

• Are there hidden risks such as flooding or radon gas issues?

• Will the property value rise or stagnate?

Finding these answers required hours of scouring different government websites. It was a full-time job, and we simply didn’t have the time.

The Solution I decided to use my experience as a Software Engineer to fix it. I aggregated all the reliable, official data—from crime rates to school catchments—and overlaid it onto one simple, interactive map.

Our Mission I built this tool to help my family make safe, smart decisions. Now, Know Your Area exists to put that power in your hands.
